TITLE: Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum Council (Internal Only) (SY26-27)

REPORTS TO:  Margo DiBiasio, Principal 

 

GENERAL DUTIES: The PreK Curriculum Council at the ELC will engage in a collaborative review of PreK curriculum options to identify high-quality, developmentally appropriate, culturally and linguistically responsive materials that support the needs of our youngest learners. Council members will examine curriculum components, research and evidence of effectiveness, alignment to PreK learning standards, and the extent to which materials support early literacy, foundational math, language development, social-emotional learning, and play-based learning. Through this process, council members will build shared understanding and contribute feedback and recommendations to inform the selection and implementation of a PreK curriculum for the ELC.

 

Educators on the curriculum council will attend 6 one hour meetings between October and March. The dates of these meetings are Thursday afternoons from 2:35-3:35. The dates are: October 22nd, December 3rd, January 7th, February 4th, March 4th, March 18th. Attendance at all meetings is required since the content will build and all stakeholders should review all curriculum materials. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: CPS Educator at a school that is working in a pre-kindergarten classroom and is familiar with pre-k curriculum standards. 

 

There are 16 vacant positions for this council. 

 

COMPENSATION:   Hourly participant rate of $38, for a total of 6 hours
