TITLE: Lead - School Counselor (Middle Schools) (Internal Only) (SY24-25)

 

(School-based; works with all 3 Middle Schools)

               

REPORTS TO:  Ellen Kokinidis, Coordinator of School Counseling

                      

GENERAL DUTIES:

In addition to school counselor role responsibilities, the lead school counselor will act as a liaison between the Coordinator of School Counseling and the Chelsea High School, Chelsea Opportunity Academy and Chelsea Virtual Academy school counseling team. The lead school counselor will provide support to team members with academic advising; postsecondary planning for college, career and alternative programming opportunities; delivery of school counseling curriculum; data driven interventions to meet student academic, social/emotional, and college/career student needs; ensure and promote student equity and access to all programs available; close monitoring of student progress towards graduation; plan and facilitate parent nights around postsecondary planning and financial aid resources; participate in CollegeBoard related programming and exam administration support; collaborate with other departments at CHS, COA and CVLA; plan and facilitate weekly PLCs and monthly department meetings, participate in faculty meetings, PD, and other meetings as needed. Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Counselor

 

COMPENSATION: CTU contractual rate.
