Title: Lead - Visual Arts (CHS) (Internal Only) (SY24-25)

                                                                        

Reports to:  Building Principal in collaboration with District Coordinators/Directors

 

Duration:  2024-2025 school year

 

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and licensed teacher in the respective discipline area who has demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills.

 

Program Lead Responsibilities:

 

In addition to school based responsibilities, the district lead will plan and facilitate monthly district wide department meetings that will include professional development activities; professional development activities for the October PD Day, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, new teacher orientation sessions as needed and summer curriculum development using the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards. The lead will be responsible for all elements of the annual district wide concert including coordination with music and band teachers, principals, buildings and grounds, community schools and police department in order to secure space, move instruments, and perform concert. In collaboration with school staff, the lead will develop a district performing arts calendar, budget and order materials, support after-school programming as needed, support the New Instrument Night (middle schools), facilitate the repair and maintenance of equipment, and support teacher needs and concerns. Other responsibilities include attending performing arts concerts at individual schools providing support and feedback, communicate with parent liaisons and the communications manager for advertising events and outreach, be the point of contact when performing groups are needed throughout the community, help maintain relationships with outside organizations and attend a monthly meeting with the assistant superintendent. Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year.
