Reports to:  Building Principal in collaboration with District Coordinators/Directors

 

Duration: 2024-2025 school year

  

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be an experienced and licensed teacher who has demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills in the relevant content area.

 

Lead Teacher Responsibilities: The lead teacher’s classroom will serve as a model classroom for effective instruction.  In addition to a full teaching load, content leads will plan and facilitate new teacher orientation sessions, professional development sessions, and PLCs.  Budget and order materials, gather and distribute professional and technical resource materials.  Organize common and standardized assessments, timelines and testing materials. Collect data and lead teacher teams in analyzing assessment data to inform instruction. Support the development of common assessments and implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks. Plan, facilitate and/or participate in PLCs, faculty meetings, PD, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies and new teacher days as needed. Participate as a team member of ILT and Middle School Department PLCs.  Additional duties as determined by the principal. Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year.
