Title: Lead –  Physical Education/Health (Districtwide) (Internal Only) (SY24-25)
                                    

Reports to:  Building Principal in conjunction with Coordinator of Physical Education, Comprehensive Health, and Athletics

 

Duration:  2024-2025 school year

  

Qualifications:          

 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and licensed teacher in the respective discipline area who has
demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills. Additionally, candidate with be familiar with and
have/be able to become certified in Project Adventure training.

 

Lead Teacher Responsibilities:      

 

The lead will plan and facilitate monthly high school based and district department meetings that will include professional development activities; professional development activities for the Professional Development Days, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, Early Release Days, new teacher orientation sessions as needed and summer curriculum development using Society of Health and Physical Educators standards. 
 
In addition the lead will be responsible for maintaining high school equipment including but not limited to Project Adventure, weight room, and physical education supplies. The equipment should be maintained for safety, cleanliness and proper use. The Equipment Lead will work with the Coordinator on developing CHS PE budget and ordering all daily PE supplies and equipment. Additional duties as determined by the principal and coordinator. Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year. Candidate must be available at the High School for monthly department meetings at 2:35.
