Title: Student - Data Pathway Student Internship (CHS) (SY23-24)

 

General Duties: CHS Data Pathway Interns will work after school on a Data Internship to complete a data science project. 

 

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Works under appointed CPS staff at a designated location 2 days per week to create a project. 
• Complete assigned tasks, learn and apply various skills in Python+Data, Data Visualization, or Excel in order to complete a project of your choosing.
• Attend all required sessions every Monday & Wednesday from 2:30-4:30pm until the end of the program.
• Frequently communicates with other interns, staff members and mentor and is accountable to the supervisor to report weekly hours, completion of assignments, etc
• Meet with industry mentors every week (virtually or in person), complete written notes on the meeting, and complete a written weekly project update. 
• Fully participate in program activities and serve as a role model and leader.
• Complete a final presentation on what was accomplished.

Note: These are minimum requirements. CPS support staff may expand upon any of these duties as they see fit, but must meet these daily requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

• Interest in STEM as a potential career
• Must do a mini-interview
• Must be an CHS student in good standing 
• Must act as a role model and exhibit good behavior
• Must maintain grades and behaviors at CHS, reflective of what a CHS student mentor should possess
• Can provide proof of citizenship, residency, or work visa 

COMPENSATION: $15 per hour
