Job Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent classroom observation and feedback sessions to support individual teacher professional improvement needs and to support implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks and relevant standards using coaching cycles, co-teaching, modeling and pre and post reflection.
- Support teacher planning/co-planning to implement SEI strategies.
- Budget and order materials, gather and distribute professional and technical resources. Collect and analyze assessment data and develop intervention strategies for students.
- Plan, facilitate and/or participate in PLCs, faculty meetings, PD, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, and new teacher days as needed.
- Participate as a team member of ILT, IST, or DCIT. Build capacity for school leadership.
- Collaborate with District Coordinators and Directors as well as other coaches and Principals.
- Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year, including collaborating in the Chelsea Professional Learning Academy the third Thursday of every month.
- Additional related duties as determined by the Principal or Designee.
Qualifications Required:
- Experienced (3+ years) and DESE licensed teacher in relevant content who has demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment;
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers
- Ability to work with diverse population;
- Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Qualifications Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish
- Dual certification in ESL and/or Moderate Disabilities
Terms:
All teachers are members of the Chelsea Teachers Union (CTU). The length of the school day is 6.5 hours, but subject to longer hours for schools with extended day. The number of school days are 185 days. For salary information, please see CPS website.
