Title: Student Worker - Afterschool Assistant Coach (Districtwide) (SY23-24)

LOCATION: CPS High School, Elementary & Middle Schools

 

General Duties: CHS Student workers for After School Support program will collaborate with the designated staff such as, but not limited to, teachers and coaches to support the students in the After School program. CHS Student workers for the After School Support program will work with individual assigned staff at any of CPS High Schools, Elementary & Middle Schools to help with all after school activities.

 

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works under appointed CPS staff at designated location weekly to aid lead coaches such as practice per week during the Enrichment Block (2:45-4:30) and a game on Saturdays for 3 hours per week (to help with game setup and gym cleanup); communicate with school personnel about student progress and concerns; monitor attendance and conduct during practice and games; prepares reports as requested by Intramurals Supervisor
  • Collaborate with referees to supports an environment of good sportsmanship and safety during games
  • Keep safety as a priority. Emphasize the importance of the personal safety and emotional well-being of self and others
  • Fully participate in program activities and serve as a role model and leader.

Note: These are minimum requirements. CPS support staff may expand upon any of these
duties as they see fit, but must meet these daily requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be an CHS student in good standing
  • Must be able to arrive travel to assigned location via walk, ride or bus
  • Must act as a role model and mentor to students
  • Must maintain grades and behaviors at CHS, reflective of what a CHS student mentor should possess
  • Can provide proof of citizenship, residency, or work visa

Compensation: $15.75 per hour.
